Current Overtures
2020 Marks the start of a new Three-Year Cycle
for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod
Two new overtures have been developed by
LCMS Pastors and Lay Persons, and are
endorsed by the Denver Society of Creation.
We hope that LCMS Pastors and Lay
Persons will support these overtures and see
that they are introduced for a vote in their
circuit forums coming up in the next three
to four months.

Pamphlets on the Age of the Earth:
Volume 1, Issue 1 (2019)
Volume 1, Issue 2 (2021)
You may remember that in 2019, the LCMS
passed a resolution re-affirming it’s belief in
creation in six natural days. However, no
statement was made on the age of the earth.
This overture would set a limit on the age
of the earth of less than 10,000 years.
This overture was passed unanimously by
the Rocky Mountain District Pastor’s Conference
on October 16, 2020. Our intent, with this
overture, is NOT to make new doctrine, but to
confess and bind ourselves to Biblical Doctrine.
