Mr. Martin Barlow

“Did God Really Say?” 07 September 2017 Survival of the fittest is a concept deep in the bedrock of the theory of Evolution. As such, it also forms the basis of the worldview of those who deny the account of Creation, or those who are ignorant of it. A Christian must ask whether survival of the fittest, or other aspects of the concept of Evolution, have a place in their life with God. Or, how should our worldview differ? This presentation offers a lay person’s perspective on the controversy between Evolution and Creation. About Mr. Barlau: Mr. Barlau is a native of Minnesota. He is the eldest son of an LC-MS Pastor and has attended Lutheran schools throughout his childhood education. Barlau continued his schooling at Concordia University in Seward, NE, graduating with a B. S. in education. He served for 10 years at Christ Lutheran Church and School in Norfolk, NE, as a teacher, music director and principal. In 1967, he received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Curriculum from Wayne State College in Wayne, NE, and that same year, accepted a call to serve as principal and teacher at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School in Lakewood, CO. Here, he also served as chairman of Lutheran Educational Administrators of Denver (LEAD), and in 1982 was elected to the Board of Directors of the Colorado (now Rocky Mountain) District of the LC-MS. Since his formal retirement in 2013, he has turned his attention to private consulting services for Lutheran educational ministries. His present ministry is directed toward reaching the children and youth of the church and the nation with the truth about their origins, and about the promise of life with God.
